LONDON – December 6th 2021 – Earlier this year, Imagen announced their partnership with the 36th America’s Cup, despite fears of the pandemic stopping production and fans not being able to watch the races live, the event took place between December 2020 - March 2021. The 36th America’s Cup was the most watched in the history of the event with a global audience of 941 million.
Following the triumph, the TV broadcast has been awarded the ‘Most Successful Sports Event Broadcast’ at the Sports Business Awards 2021. Integral to this accomplishment was the use of Imagen’s digital asset management platform, helping to securely share and distribute fast-paced action on open waters to over 200 territories
Stephen Nuttall, Managing Director Media & Production, America’s Cup, says "As the central repository for all video and images produced at the 36th America's Cup and our archive of previous Cups, the America's Cup media cloud - provided by Imagen - is the way we deliver content to broadcasters, social media, sponsors and teams. It's a critical service for the event, teams, and stakeholders, and helped us achieve our record-breaking audience for the 36th America's Cup in Auckland, New Zealand."
Charlie Horrell, CEO Imagen says: “We’re extremely proud to be a part of America’s Cup achievement. We hope to continue powering the success of this historic event with innovative real-time content management.”
