Imagen Powers Chelsea FC's Historic Content Archive

Date: August 12, 2018

London, UK - 26 June 2018 - Imagen, the leading provider of video management and distribution services, today announced that Chelsea Football Club will be using Imagen to store and share large volumes of historic content across internal departments and media production teams as well as providing secure external access for broadcasters and press.

Chelsea FC’s new branded video portal integrates seamlessly into the club’s media production workflows, allowing editorial teams at Chelsea TV to access uncompressed master files at high speeds for use in programming across their channels where they generate between 15-20 hrs of new content every week.

The new system has radically improved the way Chelsea aggregate, catalogue and distribute their historic archive, enabling them to exploit the full value of their legacy media assets. The club were looking for a video management platform capable of handling a wide variety of media, including video, audio, imagery and documents to ensure that all departments across their organisation could find the media they needed quickly and easily. With their cloud-based video portal now in place, Chelsea FC and their media partners are now able to enjoy more choice of content and rapid access to broadcast-ready video.

With their Imagen media portal in place, Chelsea FC can be sure that their archive which contains over 50 years of football from players such as Peter Osgood, Ray Wilkins, Dennis Wise, Frank Lampard, and Gianfranco Zola is in safe hands - ready to be enjoyed by more fans and a bigger audience than ever before.

Charlie Horrell, CEO from Imagen adds

As a lifelong blues fan and paid up season ticket holder, it gives me great pleasure to know that the history of Chelsea FC, its players and triumphs are now all safely stored, easy to access and ready for future generations to discover and enjoy.”
