For collection enquiry forms, you can choose whether custom fields or collection information appears first, making it easier to scan and prioritize key information in form submissions.
User registration emails now include key registration details such as name and organization directly in moderation alerts and other email templates. Registration fields like First Name, Last Name, and Organization are now available as variables in email notifications, speeding up user moderation and reducing the need to log in for basic context.

This enhancement is controlled by a setting in global settings: "Expand annotations for better readability." When enabled, the annotations panel displays in full height alongside the video player, providing better readability and a more flexible viewing experience.

Version: 7.16
Release Date: October 2025
We're excited to announce a major software update to Reuters Imagen. This combined release (7.15 + 7.16) delivers significant enhancements across navigation, collections management, search functionality, security controls, and media processing. We've focused on improving your daily workflows while strengthening platform security and reliability.
We've standardized options across all Collections menus to ensure consistency throughout the platform. All context menus now provide the same options, improving clarity and making it faster to access the features you need most.
The enquiry form now prevents empty collection orders from being processed, reducing accidental submissions and ensuring every order contains actual content. This enhancement streamlines your ordering workflow and prevents unnecessary processing.
You now have the option to collapse filter search options at the header level, creating a cleaner, more streamlined interface. Enable this feature by setting 'Number of options to show in the results filter' to 0, accessed through the 'Search, Filter and Sort' options in the admin menu. This is particularly useful for complex searches with many filter options.
Custom search pages are now searchable in both admin pages and the side panel, making it easier to find and manage your saved search configurations. This enhancement improves administrative efficiency when working with multiple custom search setups.
Default search filters now support multiple languages. The Search Screen displays cancellable filters in both English and French, making the platform more accessible for multilingual teams and organizations.
You now receive email notifications for AWS Glacier retrieval requests, keeping you informed throughout the restoration process. You'll receive confirmation when your restore request is successfully submitted and when it's completed, so you know exactly when your archived content is ready to access.
Administrators can now add 'In' and 'Out' timecodes as file name variables for downloaded clips. This feature makes it easier to identify specific clip segments and maintain consistent naming conventions across your media library.
The event service now includes events for every page view, providing enhanced traffic data and usage analytics. This improvement helps administrators better understand platform usage patterns and user behavior.
The FTP send workflow now uses a defined file-naming convention, preventing existing files at the destination from being accidentally overwritten. This safeguard protects your content and ensures file integrity during automated transfers.
We've removed the 255-character limit on Collection Item captions, allowing you to provide more detailed descriptions. Item titles now use the alternative database field where available, giving you greater flexibility in how you describe and organize your content.
Thumbnail portrait images are now displayed without truncation throughout the platform, ensuring better visual presentation and making it easier to identify assets at a glance. This enhancement improves the overall browsing experience, particularly for portrait-oriented media.
We've updated French translations related to collection removal for improved clarity, and refreshed the Japanese language translation pack to ensure accuracy across the platform.
Administrators can now customize the duration of web session activity for enhanced security. This new setting is available in 'Site configuration' admin settings and allows you to balance security requirements with user convenience based on your organization's policies.
Profile and rendition checks are now integrated into mRSS settings, protecting data integrity and ensuring direct access only for authorized users. This enhancement aligns media distribution with your organizational security policies and prevents unauthorized content access.
Enquiry forms now support optional CAPTCHA to reduce spam submissions and protect your workflows from automated abuse. This security feature helps ensure that form submissions come from legitimate users.
Live streams are now automatically removed from Live Farmer when the underlying media object is deleted. This maintains a consistent system state and eliminates stale records, improving platform reliability and reducing administrative overhead.
You can now restore multiple files from Glacier Deep Archive (GDA) simultaneously, enabling bulk downloads of archived content. This significant improvement streamlines the process of retrieving large volumes of archived media, saving time and reducing manual effort.

Version: 7.14
Release Date: JULY 2025
Navigate more intuitively with our new sticky search feature. When you use the back button on a record page, you'll now return to exactly where you were on the search page—no more losing your place or starting over.
We've improved accessibility and readability for Arabic users with better spacing and alignment for the 'Clear all search filters' action, making the interface more comfortable to use.
The 'Delete saved search' alert dialog now has improved formatting and clearer messaging, especially when your saved search impacts MRSS feeds and associated Smart Collections. You'll have better visibility into what will be affected before you confirm.
Ordering assets with costs from a collection is now more efficient. You can easily bulk select assets, resulting in a single order where progress and notifications are grouped together—while individual items can still be downloaded independently.
Need to ask about multiple assets? You can now make bulk selections to enquire about several assets within a collection at once. Previously, you could only complete an enquiry form for an entire collection—now you have more flexibility.
We've enhanced video playback by batching play events, preventing service overload and ensuring smoother performance throughout your viewing experience.
The timeline bar highlight is now more visible at the end of the timeline when you create clips, making it easier to see exactly where your clip ends.
Fixed annotation formatting on mobile devices. Annotations that were collapsing on the Material theme now display correctly.

You can now view the file size of individual downloads before downloading, allowing you to make better-informed download decisions. This transparency helps you manage bandwidth and storage more effectively.
Please note: This feature is available for individual downloads only, not batch downloads at this time.
The AFD advert checkbox has been visually enhanced for a more intuitive user experience. The improved design makes it easier to identify and interact with this option during your download workflow.
Mobile Batch Editing
Batch edit options are now available on mobile devices, providing a consistent user experience across all platforms. You can now efficiently manage multiple assets on the go, matching the powerful editing capabilities you're familiar with on desktop.
Administrators can now ban users directly from the User List context menu, improving administrative efficiency. Simply navigate to Admin Panel → Manage users/groups → Users → Manage Users, select the users you'd like to ban, and click the 'Ban' icon.
The notification panel has undergone a complete visual refresh for a more modern and engaging look. The updated design improves readability and makes it easier to stay informed about important system updates and activities.
For users of Material dark themes, links in the welcome message modal now have improved contrast against the background, making them easier to see and interact with. This enhancement improves accessibility and overall user experience in dark mode.
For Explore theme users, the record page has been redesigned to remove the black bar that previously appeared under error messages. This creates a cleaner, more professional appearance while maintaining clear error communication.
Metadata fields in the record preview side panel are now displayed in the same order as on the record page. This consistency makes it easier to locate specific information and provides a more predictable user experience.
You can now remove multiple items from a collection at once, saving significant time and effort. To use this feature, click in the top left of the items you want to select. Once every item you want to remove is highlighted, select the ⌀ icon to remove them all in one action.
You can now use enquiry forms on Smart Collections, provided they are legacy collections or have the "Include Collection Items" option deselected in the enquiry form builder. This expands your options for gathering feedback and information from collection viewers.
Bulk downloading is now available via anonymous sharing links, as long as the collection has downloads enabled. This makes it easier to share large collections with external collaborators who can download all items at once without individual account access.
The language picker option for Chinese now includes "(simplified)" for improved accuracy. This clarification helps users select the correct Chinese language variant for their needs.
We've implemented numerous improvements to ensure the stability, performance, and security of your platform. These enhancements work behind the scenes to protect your assets and provide a more reliable experience.

🔄 OPTIMISATIONS 🔄
Previously, rights-restricted content didn’t take it out of the sequence – so, when a video was played there would be sections with a blank screen. Now, you can make sure these sections are skipped by navigating to the records ‘annotations’ tab and selecting ‘mute’ and ‘fuzz’ – making for an improved viewing experience.
🔄 OPTIMISATIONS 🔄
Search queries just got quicker...Previously…
Now…
There were issues uploading and ingesting ITT files into the Imagen platform, this has now been fixed so SCC, ITT< SRT files all perform in the same way, and they can be ingested as documents.
Pagination for collections with >255 records is now fixed.
The thumbnail for a clip was displaying the thumbnail for the whole record, this has now been fixed to display the clip thumbnail.
If the annotations had more than 200 lines, everything beyond the 200th line was not visible, this has now been fixed so all annotations for a record can be seen.
Imagen supports many ‘System Languages’ via our language packs - now including Japanese - which translate the standard platform UI.
Site admins can also provide custom translations for bespoke fields (such as metadata). The option to use languages for custom translation fields which are not supported by the ‘System languages’ has been provided.
IPaddress
SessionID
Enquiry Forms
New channels of communication for your userbases
Imagen now supports the ability to add multiple enquiry forms so different use cases can be accommodated without the restriction of a single form. With each form, ACL options are provided so only the appropriate form type is provided to a user or group.
Access & Find Your Media Faster Than Ever!
PDF Indexing & Search - words and phrases contained in a document are now searchable with our PDF Viewer. *Requests will be made to Account Manager for configuration.
More Metadata! - Metadata on a media element derived from ffprobe is currently viewable within the upload interface. The option for admins to extend the visibility to non-admin users has been provided by allowing ffprobe metadata to be placed into the record page field template. *Requests will be made to Account Manager for configuration.
Users anxiously awaiting new media? - A new setting is available that states "Show media if not yet archived". This means that if media is taking a long time to ingest (for example if you are using an Azure video indexer) then you can still view your HLS and thumbnails for the media on ImagenWeb as soon as those are ready.
Download clips and full records together. When the user orders all items in a collection, they have the option to include full records. When downloading, the collection name can be added to the batch download zip folder from the collection page.
Curate your perfect list! Media within a collection can now be reordered via a drag-and-drop.
More formats. Users can add .SCC and .VTT subtitle files using SetSubtitle and now store them as an original subtitle media element.
New video for audio tracks. The Audio waveform tracks in the player are now collapsible improving the ability to view clips and the media player without scrolling the window. The performance of the Audio Digest loading .adig (waveform) has been improved. The requests will populate in parts rather than wait until the full track can be displayed, allowing faster access to the clipping tool.
More language options. Imagen supports many ‘System Languages’ via our language packs, which translate the standard platform UI. Site admins can also provide custom translations for bespoke fields (such as metadata). The option to use languages for custom translation fields which are not supported by the ‘System languages’ has been provided.
Users can share records via a simple Access Control Level.
