Intelligent Video Management Platform Will Quickly Allow College to Continue ‘Business as Usual’ with Technology Implementation
New York City, USA - 24 March 2020 - Imagen, the leading video management platform for organizations of all types, has partnered with Carleton College, a leading liberal arts school in Northfield, Minnesota, to quickly implement the digital asset management (DAM) technology needed to support faculty and staff in bringing their Spring Term classes to students remotely, amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Last week, the college announced that it would be delivering at least the first half of the semester virtually. With this, they needed a system that could handle the breadth of remote content storage and offer seamless access to content starting April 1st. Imagen will deliver the system in two weeks’ time to support the college’s evolving needs.
Carleton selected Imagen as its DAM platform of choice as it had previously been in talks with Imagen about a college-wide solution to help faculty and staff efficiently store, tag and share content across departments. The simplicity of the platform and quick time to value, coupled with its intelligent capabilities to store, manage, search and distribute its valuable content, made adoption an easy choice for Carleton.
“While we were always impressed with the platform’s capabilities, we very much appreciate Imagen’s ability to jump into action quickly and get us up and running on this crucial digital asset management technology,” said Janet Scannell, Chief Technology Officer of Carleton College.
“We recognize that being able to store, manage and distribute large volumes of content is business critical for Carleton College. This is especially true in uncertain times such as these where many schools and organizations are scrambling to keep things ‘business as usual’ and remain active for their stakeholders,” said Nick Ashwin, Imagen’s Director of Business Development for the Americas. “Situations like COVID-19 are unpredictable, and oftentimes organizations are not ready to cope from a technology standpoint. I’m glad Imagen is able to seamlessly integrate with their current tech stack, and we are able to alleviate the burden of organizing and distributing their content.”
The Cinema and Media Studies department will immediately use the Imagen system to enable remote access to content, leveraging the bookmarks feature to direct students to specific segments of class videos. Moving forward, Carleton will continue using Imagen for many of its digital asset management needs including storage and retrieval of the college’s marketing images and videos and replacing a custom-built video delivery system.
