London, UK – April 6, 2021 – Imagen, the leading AI-powered digital asset management company, announces the appointment of Tom Blake to the role of Commercial Director. Tom was formerly the CEO of Imagen Ltd between May 2011 and November 2016. Since then he has sat as an executive commercial director on the board and, most recently, in a non-executive position. His return to Imagen in a new business role is indicative of his passion for driving the growth of the company from the front line.
Tom’s return to the business is warmly welcomed by the team. Charlie Horrell, CEO Imagen, comments: “to have a former CEO and board member return to the business to drive growth directly on the ground speaks volumes of the potential of Imagen as a leader in the DAM industry. Moreover, having had a bird’s eye view on the projection of the company’s strategic direction, from both a market and a product roadmap standpoint, Tom’s return is a weighty seal of approval and his long-standing relationship with both clients and prospects paves the way for Tom to hit the ground at full speed.”
Tom brings over a decade of experience in cloud-native digital asset management, along with a strong network within the sports and media sectors. His understanding of the core business needs of our clients, above and beyond the technology that underpins Imagen’s platform, will have a positive ripple effect on the entire business.
Tom added: “As with any business, Imagen were faced with uncertainties at the start of the pandemic, especially as many of our clients are sports clubs and federations who were seeing postponements and cancellations, or production companies who were unable to continue with their schedule.
Prior to the pandemic, digitisation projects and online access to well organised video libraries was perceived as the exclusive privilege for larger companies and federations. Remote working and the urgency for rights holders to retain fan engagement has made it mission critical for all content owners to prioritise digital and cloud migration.
With so many organisations needing Imagen’s technology and support, I am delighted to put my shoulder to the wheel and help our current and prospective customers optimise the potential of their content and be in the best state of preparation for the years ahead.”
